eCommerce Server : Features

Built from the ground up, LRG eCommerce Server is an efficient, scalable e-shopping solution. The system runs on the resilient Osiris core. Our technology caters for stores of any size; from a small business, to a global operation requiring redundant clustering of many servers around the world. The modular design of Osiris makes add-ons and customisation a straightforward task. We have strived to make this product the most effective eCommerce package in terms of administration and customer experience.

Order Processing
The customer's shopping experience is the most important part of an online store. Our main focus was to make sure the customer felt comfortable navigating the site and to keep the basket interface as intuitive as possible. Whilst any design can be applied to eCommerce server, our standard layout provides users with an accepted eCommerce interface consisting of a category tree, product view, basket and checkout.

A user can supply an email address, which will create a password protected tracking and re-ordering account. A customer can also resume an abandoned shopping session and reprint invoices. If requested, they can be added to a mailing list, an essential marketing tool to ensure repeat custom.

From an administrator's point-of-view, there are tools to follow customers around your site to work out trends such as initial point of site entry and to analyse abandoned shopping trips.

Orders can be processed over the phone, using the phone order facility and all orders are editable by the administrator to correct things such as addresses and quantities. Carrier data can be exported to make the once chore of creating shipping labels a simple task. Once orders have been approved or shipped, the administrator can update the order and the customer is notified by email of the status.

Invoices are generated in pdf format and can be customised using our invoice editor. These can be printed in batches or individually. To find an order, the powerful search tool can locate by customer name & address, order number or product details.

Product & Category Management
One of the most frequent tasks as a store administrator is to create and maintain the various categories and products contained within. When we looked at other eCommerce solutions, we found many pages of parameters to go through in order to create a basic product. For our solution, we made it a simple, one page form to add/edit a product or category. Any, more complex variables such as options can be built elsewhere if required.

There is a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor that follows the main edit/create page for those requiring HTML and image rich design within their product and categories' description, but this can be skipped if not required.

For tasks such as marking up or marking down, deleting, relating a selection of products, we have a batch processing facility which makes administration of multiple items much quicker and easier.

Sales and Marketing
Having a great online store is only part of the success story. Our solution comes with features to assist in marketing your site, bringing customers to your shop from all parts of the vast global marketplace that is the Internet.

The site contains graphical analysis tools for sales statistics. The charts show key information including:

- Sales vs. interest
- Category popularity
- Top sellers

eCommerce server has user account mass mail facilities. If a customer opts-in, they can receive regular email bulletins from your store, highlighting them of latest products and special offers you want to promote. Emails can be sent in plan text and HTML. This feature is expected of large online stores such as Amazon and Dabs.com.

Sending a sitemap or product feed to the major search engines or product comparison sites would be a daunting task when you have a few hundred items on you site. What about when your product offerings total thousands of lines? Our automatic feed generator will create the bulk files and send them to sites such as Google, Yahoo & Google Products (formally Froogle). The feeds generator can also produce shipping data that import to carrier websites, to make despatching orders even easier.

GCode guides allows you to make information or "how-to" guides on subjects related to your products. For example, if you are selling showers, you may want to produce a GCode guide for the different types of shower. Search engines will pick up your page, and people looking for shower who are looking for information about showers will be directed to your site. After reading the guide, they will be already on your site, where they are able to buy a shower.
